Hopkins sponsors Sherborne Young Farmers Club
Young Farmer’s as a whole is one of the largest rural youth organisations in the UK, supporting young people who have a love for agriculture and rural life. Sherborne Young Farmers is one of 630 clubs in England and Wales, which offer unique opportunities to develop skills, work with their local communities, travel abroad, take part in varied competitions and enjoy a dynamic social life – and you don’t have to be a farmer to get involved!
Sponsorship is vitally important to Young Farmers, not just to help fund clothing and equipment, but also all the activities, development programmes and travel on offer. Sherborne are a particularly energetic club taking part in all kinds of activities in the local area, from farm walks and demonstrations to clay Pidgeon shooting and Zorb football! They also take part in a number of national activities and competitions throughout the year.
Why we chose to sponsor Sherborne Young Farmers
We think it’s important to support our local communities and with agriculture acting as such a large part of our business, we were more than happy to support them. We’re a large employer in the area too, and we know first-hand how important it is to provide opportunities for young people. We have recently employed our second apprentice who we are currently training up to become one of our drivers. We have also worked with Key4Life, to provide invaluable work experience to a youngster on a rehabilitation programme.
The opportunities provided by Young Farmers, opens so many doors for young people and we are 100% behind nurturing this – it’s important to our business too.
